The reactions came out strongly on social media after they saw Virat issue a public clarification on Instagram, stating that a recent interaction, mistakenly perceived as him liking a post of Avneet, was unintentional and likely caused by Instagram’s algorithm.

Virat Kohli's Statement On The Controversy
Virat Kohli broke his silence on his Twitter handle after people reacted on social media regarding Kohli liking a post about Avneet Kaur from his official Instagram profile. Kohli broke his silence on the matter, saying that the post has been liked mistakenly due to an algorithm error.
“I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the series of events unfolded as Anushka Sharma celebrated her birthday on Thursday. Married since 2017, the couple welcomed their second child, Akaay, in February 2024.
