Delhi Capitals (DC) managed to post just an above-par score against Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 35 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season as they finished on a solid note with 203 runs for the loss of eight wickets in a day game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Inserted to bat first by GT captain Shubman Gill, DC opening batter Abhishek Porel (18 runs) started in a blistering fashion by taking on Mohammed Siraj for 16 runs in the first over.
However, the southpaw could not sustain his brisk start for a long time, as he was dismissed by Arshad Khan in the second over. In walked KL Rahul at number three, and he continued to show his class by taking on opening bowlers Siraj and Arshad. The former conceded more than 25 runs in his two overs as DC top-order batters punished him severely.
However, just like Porel, Rahul was also dismissed (28 runs) just when he was looking good to score more runs. DC skipper Axar Patel (39 runs) played a captain's innings and ensured DC posted a competitive total.
The southpaw walked in at number four at the crease and kept himself busy at the crease by rotating ones and twos. He also shared a 50-plus run stand with Tristan Stubbs (31 runs). Losing regular wickets halted DC's innings to post 200+ runs onboard.

Advantage GT as DC fails to post a dominating total onboard
At the halfway point, DC was placed at 103 runs, and Tristan Stubbs and Axar were going great guns. However, good death bowling by GT bowlers ensured DC finished on a below-par score. If not for skipper Axar's sensible batting, DC would have ended up scoring below 150 runs. For GT, Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers, picking four wickets.
