After bagging the digital rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season, JioHotstar has also bagged the exclusive digital rights for the upcoming India Test tour of England, starting on June 20. Interestingly, Sony App had the digital rights for England's matches for India's audience.
However, according to the Cricbuzz report, JioHotstar has completed a staggering digital deal with Sony Entertainment Network, Culvar Max Entertainment Private Limited. The five-match Test series between India & England will now digitally be available on JioHotstar too. It is to be noted that negotiations between two premier digital giants have been underway for the past one month. However, it is to be believed that the agreement was locked in the last 24 hours.

Sony Network has agreed to sub-license the digital streaming of the five ENG vs IND Test series. It has though retained the linear rights of the ENG vs IND Tests. The matches will also aired on Sony Sports network.
JioHotstar to also broadcast a white-ball series next year between India & England
For the unversed, JioHotstar has also bagged the digital rights for next year's India's white-ball tour to England. India will play three ODIs and five T20Is in 2026. JioHotstar is all set to broadcast those bumper eight white-ball games.

It is to be noted that Sony bagged the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) rights in 2024 for an eight-year period that will run till 2031, giving exclusive broadcast to all of England's matches in India. ECB has played a huge hand in JioHotstar getting a digital rights deal from Sony for the ENG vs IND Test series.
