Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja finished the Test series against England with 516 runs at an average of 86.00. This remains his most productive series with the bat for India in Test cricket.
He scored a gritty 53 off 77 balls in the second innings after scoring just nine runs in the first innings. In the process, he added key stands with Yashasvi Jaiswal first and then with Dhruv Jurel to take India to 396 in their second innings.
His dismissal in the second innings of the fifth Test at The Oval was his first such dismissal in this entire series. Barring the final Test at The Oval, Ravindra Jadeja was not dismissed even once in the second innings.
Watch - Interaction Between Fan And Ravindra Jadeja
Meanwhile, during his innings with the bat, he requested umpire Kumar Dharmasena to ask one of the fans to change his red-coloured T-shirt. The colour of the t-shirt was distracting his concentration behind the bowler's arm.
"There's been a lot of conversation about him and he still doesn't realise he's the problem," the television commentator said.
Dharmasena asked the security guards to convey the information to the concerned fan. The spectator first seemed confused as he was informed that Jadeja was having trouble sighting the ball as he was sitting right behind the bowler’s arm on the same seat the whole day. He did not bother to take Jadeja’s request seriously. Finally, the security guard gave him a dull grey-coloured England T-shirt, which he wore. Once he wore it, he received a thumbs-up from Ravindra Jadeja, with the situation getting back to normal.
