Jasprit Bumrah once again came to India's rescue as he picked up his 14th Test fifer, picking up the last wicket as England were bowled out for 465 runs in the first innings in response to India's total of 471.

Bumrah picked up five wickets for 83 runs in 24.4 overs. Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets for 122 runs while Prasidh Krishna took three wickets for 128 runs to show for their efforts.

It was the Jasprit Bumrah show once again, especially with the second new ball as he picked two out of the last five wickets to fall. In the process, he became the first Asian bowler to pick up 150 wickets in SENA countries.

Jasprit Bumrah Picks Up His 14th Fifer In Tests

The day started well for India as they dismissed Ollie Pope (106 runs off 137 deliveries) inside the first hour of the day's play. However, since then every England batter chipped in with crucial contributions with Harry Brook going on to score 99 runs off 112 deliveries.

England's tail wagged with Jamie Smith (40 runs off 52 balls), Chris Woakes (38 runs off 55 balls) adding crucial stands with Brook. Once, he was dismissed by Pradish Krishna in the 88th over, Brydon Carse (22 runs off 38 balls) and Josh Tongue (11 runs off 18 balls) played their part in getting England upto 465.

Before Bumrah finally closed out the England innings, Siraj picked up Ben Stokes (20 runs off 52 balls) and Carse while Krishna picked up Brook and Smith. Bumrah had four catches dropped off his bowling on day 3 as India's fielding became the talking point as well.

Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped two chances on day 3. Rishabh Pant also missed an edge as Brook made India pay with his quick scoring rate. The Indian bowlers leaked runs once the new-ball was taken with almost 100 being scored from the first 15 overs.

India Lead By 6 Runs In Second Innings

Finally, with England getting bowled out for 465 runs, India have managed a lead of just six runs. England proved their batting depth very well in this match as the tailenders left the Indian bowlers frustrated. India needs to post a big score in the second innings with England well-placed to chase anything down at this point.
